Daily Prompt: By Heart

“You’re asked to recite a poem (or song lyrics) from memory — what’s the first one that comes to mind? Does it have a special meaning, or is there another reason it has stayed, intact, in your mind?” –The Daily Post

Hold fast to dreams,
for if dreams die,
life is a broken-winged bird
that cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams,
for if dreams goes,
life is a barren field
frozen with snow.

(Shout out to my 7th grade Reading & Writing teacher who introduced this poem to me that I still recite to this day)
