“If you’re like most of us, you need to earn money by working for a living. Describe your ultimate job. If you’re in your dream job, tell us all about it — what is it that you love? What fulfills you? If you’re not in your dream job, describe for us what your ultimate job would be.” –The Daily Post
Had you asked me this last week, I probably would have said either, “I’m not sure.” or “I want to be the CEO of a company.”
Then I realized my dream of becoming a CEO was flawed. It would be very difficult to make it to the top unless I started a company myself. Plus, lessons being taught in Rutgers Business School clashed with some of my core values. (i.e. this). They were making me feel very “fake” to put it simply.
I did some soul searching and eventually realized that I want to go to medical school and become a child psychiatrist. (This is the story of how I figured that part out.) I can’t think of a better path for me to pursue! I love school so it’ll extend my education by a few years. It’ll be a bit more costly but then the average salary is pretty good. I want nothing more than to help people in need – especially children, so it should feel fulfilling. Plus, I can start my own practice and be the “CEO” of it just like I set out to be. 🙂
I’m so excited. I know stuff happens and people rarely become what they set out ot become but I really really really want to see this happen. Fingers crossed.
