“To what extent is your blog a place for your own self-expression and creativity vs. a site designed to attract readers? How do you balance that? If sticking to certain topics and types of posts meant your readership would triple, would you do it?” –The Daily Post
I think my readers can attest to the fact that I blog as a way to express myself. All I do is participate in Post a Day, the Weekly Photo Challenges, and post occasional updates about my life. The topics and responses always hold true to what is on my mind. I’ve never written about something in hopes of gaining a follower. In fact, followers happen. They aren’t something I try to get. When someone follows me, great! I love you and you honestly make my day. (I mean it!) But even if no one followed me, I would still blog just for the satisfaction of it. How can I say that for sure? Because I already do it.
I have a personal private blog that no one can see except me. I’ve been writing in it every day since May of 2008 when I was in the 8th grade.
That means I have a written digital diary entry about every single day of my high school career! That’s actually pretty cool, right?
